Local World Junior Champion Sarah Kenyon Makes Waves!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate Midwest Academy of Sport athlete Sarah Kenyon, who has just brought home a Junior World Title in windsurfing, and she did it on her home waves in Geraldton!

At just 17 years old, Sarah was crowned Under-18 Women’s World Champion at the Junior World Wave Championship Grand Final, held right here in the Mid West. Competing against the best young windsurfers from across the globe, Sarah’s incredible skill, local knowledge and sheer determination saw her secure enough points to take out the world title in her division, a phenomenal achievement for a local athlete.

What makes this victory even more special is that Sarah accomplished it on her home beaches, in front of friends, family and fellow supporters. She trained hard right here on the Geraldton coastline, where the wind is perfect and the waves are world-class and it sure paid off!
