MWAS CEO Martin FitzSimons and Rotary Club of Batavia Coast president Gerg Syvwright put the seal on an enjoyable evening.

MWAS CEO Martin FitzSimons was pleased to have the opportunity to attend a meeting of the Rotary Club of Batavia Coast. In addition to enjoying a meal amongst good company, Martin made a brief presentation to the club about the MWAS. He noted the synergies between the work of Rotary and the intended benefits from the MWAS for the local community. Martin was particularly interested in forging links with Rotary in the youth area and involving the MWAS athletes in projects that help young people to appreciate the value of volunteering and seeing benefits in the community. The MWAS subscribes to the adage that “good people make good athletes”  and has a role to play in developing strong young citizens through their commitment to sporting and life goals. If any community groups believe they have projects that young athletes may be able to help them with, they can contact Martin FitzSimons at mwas@sportshouse.net.au
